Work continues on the drafting pit project at the Southaven Fire Training facility. The drafting pit will be a great addition to our facility and enhance our ability to test pumps and train. More to come on this news.

Work has been completed on our 44,000 gallon drafting pit, and we have already pushed it into service. We are ready to begin our annual pump testing in June, in which we test the pumping capacity of all our engines and trucks. This is one of the only in-ground drafting sites in Mississippi, and allows us to test our equipment regardless of the season or weather. it allows for a clean, continuous source of water which helps in maintaining the readiness of our fleet. In the picture below you see our new 78' E-One Truck being put through its paces in preparation for being put into service. We have also opened the use of our drafting pit to other Desoto County fire departments as well as other departments around the State to come and test equipment.
