February 9, 2015 Update
Spring is just around the corner and so is the biggest and best concert lineup in our Amphitheater's history! Take a drive down Snowden Lane and see the work in progress to enclose the stage. This improvement will give a grand appearance to the facility and improve the concert experience both visually and acoustically. The project is still on pace for completion in late April or early May.
November 10, 2014 Original Report
Construction will begin soon on a major improvement to the stage at our Snowden Grove Amphitheater.
This improvement will enclose the now-open stage and add display boards for the use of video screens on each flank, storage rooms for entertainers' equipment, signage at the top, and general architectural improvements which will improve the aesthetic appearance of the stage and Amphitheater altogether.
The stage has also been designed acoustically to minimize the sound as much as possible for area residents and improve the projection towards the audience.
The recently-accepted bid for this project is $740,700 and is paid for with funds generated by the restaurant tourism tax ("A Penny for Your Parks").
This project is part of the City's Parks and Recreation Enhancement and Expansion Plan and is expected to improve the demand of the Amphitheater as one of the best entertainment venues in the Mid-South as well as improve the entertainment experience for our citizens.
