The completion of this project was further delayed because the City repaired several low spots in the asphalt caused by cold weather complications previously mentioned. All of the repairs have now been completed and striping will begin this week with completion within a few days thereafter.
May 19, 2015 Update
The completion of this project was delayed because it started late in the year and cold temperatures prevented the final asphalt application. Asphalt crews are finishing this project now and it should be finalized, including new striping, within two weeks.
November 18, 2014 Original Report
Please cooperate with us and pardon the inconvenience of lane closures as we have started patching, milling, and laying new asphalt on Main Street between Highway 51 and Northwest Dr.
This is the first of many street improvements planned with our newly-created "Street Asphalt Overlay Schedule" which will be funded by our Board's budget allocation of $1,000,000 for street improvements.
The decision to start on Main Street is also part of our larger "Revitalization and Beautification Plan" to improve the pride, appearance, and economic revitalization of our City's West End.
