On November 13, 2014, the Dizzy Dean Board of Directors met with City officials and approved a contract extension to grant our City the right to host all age divisions of their baseball and softball World Series through the 2024 season.
This tournament provides a unique experience for all the kids with Snowden Grove and Greenbrook Parks for games and the Snowden Grove Amphitheater for the opening ceremonies.
The City expects a minimum of 225 teams annually and receives entries from all over the Southeast. Some teams travel even further. This past July, we had a team that traveled all the way from Hawaii to participate and I understand that smiles never left their faces while enjoying our first-class facilities and tournament operation.
This event provides a significant economic impact each year for our City and Desoto County with the tourism revenues that it generates.
Southaven is great for Dizzy Dean and Dizzy Dean is great for Southaven!
