The Board of Aldermen recently accepted the lowest bid of $546,230 from Lamb Construction to complete this project.

This project will extend Pine Tar Alley from the current dead end near the bowling alley and Parks building eastward to connect with Freeman Lane.  It also includes an alternate that will provide a new asphalt overlay and widen Freeman Lane from the current width of 20' to 28'.  This road extension will provide multiple benefits to our City in that it will connect our current tennis center to Snowden Park as well as provide an easterly escape route for traffic from Amphitheater concerts and other Snowden Grove Park events onto Malone Road.

Finally, this project is a part of the City's Parks Enhancement and Expansion Plan and is funded by the "Penny For Your Parks" restaurant tourism tax.
