February 11, 2016 Update
Baseball season is just around the corner and the view at Snowden Grove will be a little different this year. Crews are working hard and making progress with the concessions and bathroom additions at Quads A, B, and C. This picture was taken recently at Quad B. The total project is still on schedule for completion in April.

10/22/2015 Original Report
The City recently accepted a construction bid in the amount of $1,785,000 to do major improvements to Snowden Grove Park. This project will add a stadium roof and chairback stadium seats to one of the fields at Quads A, B, and C. A centerfield "Batter's Eye" structure and pressbox will also be added at Field C12 where the televised Dizzy Dean World Series 12-year old championship game is played. Bathroom and concession facilities will be added to Quads B and C as well.
Snowden Grove Park has been an outstanding amenity for our City since its inception in 2000 as it has added greatly to the quality of life for our children, parents, and grandparents experiencing facilities and playing surfaces usually only found at college and professional parks. The Park has also transcended the normal function of a park facility in that it has become a significant tourism draw and economic development tool for our City.
These improvements will be enjoyed by our children playing in the recreational leagues as well as the Dizzy Dean World Series and USSSA competitive baseball tournaments held throughout the year.
Finally, this project will be funded by the restaurant tourism tax ("A Penny For Your Parks"). Completion is targeted for April, 2016.
