Recently, after research from our Chief Administrative Officer Chris Wilson and insurance consultants, the Board and I approved a life insurance increase for our first responders for our FY '17 budget year beginning October 1.  Our policemen, firemen, and paramedics will have an increase from $25,000 to $100,000 with their group term life insurance face amount to protect their families.

Without public safety, a city has nothing, and we are glad that we can offer this increased benefit to show our appreciation to the men and women who put their lives on the line for us each day.
