Elmore Rd Project

Update...December 17, 2015

This project is in its final stages as crews are working hard today in an attempt to finish leveling all lanes to make all functional for traffic.  Weather and asphalt plant timelines are challenging this time of year.  Asphalt can only be applied on dry days when the air temperature is at a minimum of 45 degrees and rising.  Due to weather and the need to perform maintenance, asphalt plants close for several weeks this time of year.  At this point, our goal is to have all lanes leveled and temporarily striped in December with the final layer of asphalt, striping, and signage completed in early 2016.

Original Report...September 26, 2014

Construction began on this long-awaited project last month.  This project will make Elmore a four-lane rd from Goodman Rd south to Nail Rd and then three-lane to Church Rd with a complete asphalt overlay.

Road project timelines are difficult to estimate, but the plan is for completion by the end of the year in 2015.

The City hopes this will help provide some relief with traffic congestion in the Goodman/Airways area.
