The original item was published from July 27, 2017 2:19 PM to July 27, 2017 2:52 PM

Construction is nearing completion of this project to add sidewalks on streets throughout the Carriage Hills subdivision.  This project is funded 65% by MDOT as a LPA project (Local Public Agency).  The total cost of the project is $463,350 with Southaven’s 35% being about $162,000.  Specifically, the sidewalks are being built along Chesterfield, Farmington, and Canterbury Drives from Rasco and connecting via Boulder Drive.  The walks will make the area more pedestrian-friendly in general and will especially benefit our school children as they connect with Southaven High School and Southaven Elementary School.  This project is part of a larger plan to make our entire city more pedestrian-friendly and will be followed by several more related projects.
