Enhancing Public Safety
The Fire Prevention Division is charged with mitigating emergencies through the use of engineering, education, and enforcement. Fire and life safety are enhanced through the development and enforcement of adopted fire codes.
The Division's duties include the following:
- Conducting plan reviews to ensure compliance prior to new construction
- Enhancing public safety through fire and life safety education in schools, homes, and businesses
- Inspecting new and existing buildings for fire code compliance
