Overseeing Development & Renovation

The Office of Planning and Development oversees construction throughout the City from the beginning conceptual stages to the final stage of completion. This construction includes commercial and residential buildings, road projects and also city-wide beautification projects. 

There are several steps in the approval process which encompass several departments including Planning, Engineering and Building. 

Additionally, this office supervises the Municipal Code Enforcement Department.

The City of Southaven is currently submitting applications for the following projects to the Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization for the 2026-2029 TIP cycle.  

IF approved, these projects could be funded by federal transportation funds in total of 80% with a local match of 20%.

Project 1             Repaving of Airways Blvd. from Goodman Road to Nail Road 

 

Project 2             Repaving of Airways Blvd. from Nail Road to Church Road

 

Project 3             Repaving of Airways Blvd. from Goodman Road to Rasco Road 

 

Project 4             Repaving of Airways Blvd. from Rasco Road to MS/TN stateline 

 

Project 5             Repaving of Church Road from Getwell Road to Malone Road

 

Project 6             Installation of a round-about at May Blvd. and Snowden Lane

 

Project 7             Widening of Stateline Road from Tchulahoma Road to Getwell Road to include a dividing median and a round-about to replace the signal at Tchulahoma Road @ Stateline Road 

 

Project 8             Installation of a multi-use path down Getwell Road from Church Road to Star Landing Road
